Originally from New Zealand, Paul trained as a Professional Quantity Surveyor and brings over 32 years of experience in the construction industry. He spent 27 years with Knight Contracting Ltd. before joining Gordon N Gordon Builders in 2021, where he has served as Senior Project Manager for the past five years.

Paul oversees all GNG Builders projects, managing budgets, scheduling, preconstruction planning, tendering, procurement, and contract administration. With extensive experience in multi-residential, commercial, and industrial construction, he takes a hands-on approach to ensure efficiency and high-quality execution.

As our lead estimator, Paul brings decades of expertise in cost analysis and resource planning, providing valuable insight to the Gordon N Gordon team. Leading a team of 50+ construction personnel, his deep understanding of the construction process and strong leadership skills keep projects on track, on time, and within budget. A cornerstone of Gordon N Gordon Builders, Paul’s experience, dedication, and leadership are instrumental to the company’s success.

Jim brings over 46 years of construction experience to our team, having started as a labourer before moving into formwork and wood framing. Over the years, he expanded his skills into siding, finishing, and steel stud work, with the majority of his career focused on concrete and wood-framed multi-family, single-family, and commercial projects.

After more than 30 years in foreman roles across various trades, Jim has spent the last 15+ years as a superintendent, managing all on-site activities and coordinating trades from start to finish. He has successfully led projects of all sizes, from new builds to complex renovations, with expertise in every stage of construction.

Today, Jim oversees our commercial sites, single-family homes, and renovation projects, ensuring each one is completed to the highest standard. His deep industry knowledge and steady leadership make him a trusted resource on every job site.

Mike has been working in construction since 2002, building a strong foundation in siding, framing, and prefabrication. He began his career in the Cowichan Valley, spending nearly a decade siding and framing before moving to Victoria, where he focused on framing condos and houses, including pre fabricating and erecting condo walls.

Since joining Gordon N Gordon in 2015, Mike has taken on a leadership role as Framing Foreman, successfully managing crews of 20+ employees and ensuring projects are completed on time and to a high standard. With extensive experience in structural framing and a hands-on, problem-solving approach, he plays a key role in keeping projects running smoothly and efficiently. His depth of knowledge and commitment to quality make him an essential part of the team.

Matt Quigley graduated from the University of Calgary with a degree in Geography, specializing in geospatial information systems and urban planning. He joined Gordon ‘N’ Gordon in 2023, transitioning from the paint division into a role with the Builders division.

As Project Manager & Safety Coordinator, Matt supports project planning, scheduling, and logistics. He works alongside the Project and Development Managers to help develop budgets, timelines, and resource allocations. Matt acts as a key liaison between stakeholders, ensuring smooth communication and coordination throughout all phases of construction.

He also oversees document control, regulatory compliance, and financial tracking—managing permits, contracts, and safety requirements while chairing the Joint Health & Safety Committee.

Clay Brown is a highly experienced construction superintendent with a strong background in multi-storey commercial, institutional, and residential construction. With over two decades in the industry, Clay has successfully led and supervised crews of up to 50 workers, ensuring projects are completed efficiently, safely, and to the highest standards. His expertise spans architectural concrete work, complex scheduling, and managing diverse teams in fast-paced environments.

As Superintendent, Clay is responsible for organizing and coordinating sub-trades, enforcing safety regulations, and solving major construction challenges. He works closely with project managers to oversee budgets, schedules, and quality control measures, ensuring seamless execution from start to finish. His leadership fosters a collaborative, safety-focused work environment, emphasizing respect, teamwork, and adherence to regulatory compliance.

Dedicated to professional excellence, Clay holds multiple safety and management certifications, including a Certificate of Qualification in Carpentry from Camosun College and specialized training in supervisory safety management, hazard recognition, and prime contractor responsibilities. His commitment to high-quality construction, problem-solving, and efficient project delivery has been integral to the success of our projects.

With over 40 years of hands-on experience in the carpentry and construction industry, Ron Loof brings deep expertise, attention to detail, and a commitment to quality craftsmanship to every project he leads.

Ron began his career working for his father’s company, gaining early experience in renovations and insurance repair work. He then expanded his skills with Knight Contracting, where he specialized in tenant improvements, project supervision, deficiency finishing, and concrete work.

Since joining GNG Builders, Ron has taken on a leadership role in overseeing renovation projects and executing high-level finish carpentry. His knowledge of both structural and finishing work allows him to manage projects with precision from start to finish, ensuring all aspects meet the highest standards.

Ron is valued for his reliability, craftsmanship, and ability to find practical solutions, making him an integral part of GNG Builders’ commitment to delivering excellence on every special project.

With over 45 years of experience in the construction industry, Jim is a seasoned superintendent whose career spans every level of the trade—from hands-on labour to managing large-scale commercial projects. Originally from Kamloops, Jim began his journey in construction working in framing before pursuing an apprenticeship in concrete, where he found his long-term specialization.

For more than 25 years, Jim ran his own construction business, focusing on commercial concrete work. His portfolio includes a wide range of projects, from foundational slabs and structural underpinnings to full-scale high-rise and low-rise developments, managing everything from 2,000 m³ to over 10,000 m³ of concrete. His experience also includes estimating, billing, and heavy equipment operation, making him one of the most well-rounded professionals on any job site.

Jim has led crews ranging from small five-person teams to large groups of over 130 workers. His leadership is defined by a deep understanding of fieldwork, a practical mindset, and the ability to get the job done under pressure.

With over 45 years of hands-on experience in the construction industry, Jim McColl brings unmatched knowledge, leadership, and dedication to every project he oversees. His career began with a four-year apprenticeship, followed by nine years as a skilled carpenter, where he developed a strong foundation in both craftsmanship and construction methodology.

Jim then advanced to a 12-year tenure as a foreman, where he honed his ability to lead teams and manage complex builds. For the past 20 years, he has served as a construction superintendent, specializing in commercial concrete, specialty architectural concrete, and commercial framing. His expertise spans every stage of construction—from excavation to concrete finishing—making him a vital asset on high-performance builds.

Jim is known for his precision, professionalism, and ability to maintain quality and schedule across all phases of construction. His leadership ensures projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest standard.
